OFBL: Maxim Jamjoom downs Okaz to stay unbeaten

Maxim Jamjoom brought down Okaz 67-64 to stay unbeaten in the Non-Rated Division Bracket B Friday Morning Games in the OFBL 4th Conference basketball tournament at Timeout Sports Academy Gymnasium on Television Street , Ghulail District on the outskirs of Jeddah.
It was a close match as both teams went toe to toe till the final buzzer. Abulencia and Gemino blended well as they carried their team with a combined total of 58 points. Abulencia topscored with an impressive 31 points while Gemino added a staggering 27 points for the winning team. Laurente and Manila each scored 15 points to lead the losing team.
In the Bracket A, VKH Brothers tasted their first victory in the league as they dominated Jollibee all throughout the game to pull off a 72-59 win.
It was a good team effort that made it all possible for VKH as six of their players reached double figures, spearheaded by Dizon with 15 points, TJ Faeldozon and Fernandez both with 12 points, Asperga and Garrido had 11 points each and Lloyd with 10 points. Domangcas led Jollibee with 25 points, followed by Manlangit 9 and Alde with 6 points.
Meanwhile, in the Friday Evening Division, NRF silenced the Silencers 77-62 in the Intercompany Non-Rated Division.
The first half was just about even match but NRF exploded in the second half, taking a lead of as much as 20 points, with Borata leading their way to victory with 19 points. He was helped out by Neri 10 points and Cabral and Barry both with 9 points. The losing team was headed by Bundoc 18 points, Nambatac with 14 points and Panandigan with 11 points.
In the Above 40 Division, IVAN trounced Box Makers 68-55. IVAN controlled the tempo of the game right from the start and never let their opponents grab the momentum.
Jamatau had a remarkable second half performance hitting a total of 21 points to pace his team. He had valuable assistance from J. Mabarit with 9 points and Solis 17 points. Caba scored 17 points, along with Jao 14 points and Dela Cruz 9 points for Box Makers.
In the Inter-Company Bonafide, Hidada won against STC.
The win underlined Hidada’s credentials as the team to beat anew having won the title in the OFBL 3rd Conference.
The coach of hidada said they will try their best to take again the championship in this tournament with a lineup that boasts towering center Ventanilla, power forward Pasculado, 3rd Conference Best Guard Carbonnel and the 3RD Conference MVP Mendoza.
