Prince Talal: Filipinos highly competent

Prince Talal, president of the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), has lauded the rapid development taking place in East Asia, particularly the Philippines, South Korea and Singapore.
Prince Talal made his observation following his visit to the Philippines to launch the first Ibdaa Microfinance Bank (IMB) in Manila.
He said that Filipino women are taking part in the decision-making process and contributing to the progress of the country, referring to a number of women in the nation’s Senate and Congress.
Prince Talal met with Filipino officials during his visit, including Vice President Jejomar Binay, who attended the launching ceremony at the Fairmont Hotel.
Filipinos are highly competent in terms of work and on top of that they are a very clean people, he said.
Prince Talal signed an agreement with Miguel B. Varela, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), in the presence of high-ranking officials from both countries.
He said that the AGFUND Open University is primarily open to all.
