The four-day International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education kicks off in Riyadh on April 15 with 500 foreign universities and several leading educationists participating from around the world.
Minister of Higher Education Khaled Al-Anqari said recently that the conference is part of a plan by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to develop the country's knowledge economy.
Al-Anqari will be the keynote speaker on the opening day. Other speakers include Ruairi Quinn, Ireland's minister for education and skills; Tony Chan, president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; and Tan Chorh Chuan, president of the National University of Singapore.
Several other local and international experts and scholars will take part in the various panel discussions at the event, said Al-Anqari.
