National initiative program for Saudi youth launched

Prince Fahd bin Muqrin launched a national initiative program for Saudi youth on Sunday under the banner “Sons of the homeland”.
The program aims to honor young men and women who have served the country and instil a sense of duty toward the country among Saudi youth.
Media adviser Abdul Aziz Alandidjani said the initiative will be led by 50 intellectuals, scientists and business leaders in the Kingdom.
Prince Fahd bin Muqrin said it was a pleasure to preside over such a program, which aims to prepare youth to serve the nation and contribute toward the homeland’s security.
He added that the importance of the initiative stems from the importance of instilling a culture of duty in young Saudis toward the country and cultivating a sense of responsibility toward the community.
Prince Fahd signed four Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreements with Prince Najwa Salem of the Beta Academy for Education and Training, Okaz newspaper, the media sponsors of the initiative, Jeddah Municipality and Madinah Municipality.

Saudi Arabia among top 10 in UN’s e-commerce index

  • The index ranked the Kingdom 49th in the global ranking

RIYADH: The UN e-commerce index ranked Saudi Arabia among the top 10 countries in the e-commerce sector.

The index, issued by the UN Conference on Trade and Development, ranked the Kingdom 49th in the global ranking, rising three places in the general index.

The report indicated that the improvement achieved by the Kingdom came from two criteria: The proportion of Internet use — which has risen to 93 percent — and the rising postal reliability standard.

Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha said that this achievement came as a result of unlimited support from the leadership.

He added that the ministry works with partners to develop the Kingdom’s digital capabilities to invest in the growth of future projects in order to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 reform plans.
