The Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh (POLO-Riyadh) will hold an Onsite Labor Education Program (OLEP) among Filipinos in Al-Rass in Qassim, 460 km north of the Saudi capital.
“Some 400 Filipinos are expected to attend the event and will have the opportunity to learn more about labor issues and what to do if they have a problem at work,” Christopher Agustin, a community leader based in Buraidah, told Arab News.
The OLEP aims to orient participants on how to prevent employer-employee conflict, motivate them to aim for higher levels of productivity and responsibility and develop balanced regards for rights, duties and responsibilities among themselves.
Agustin said that the POLO will enlighten OFWs on the concept of OLEP and the new Saudi labor law, among others.
