At Iraq's Nimrud, remnants of fabled city Daesh sought to destroy

Entering the ancient city of Nimrud following its liberation this week from Daesh militants, Iraqi tribal fighter Ali al-Bayati laments the vandalism caused on the national heritage site. “Nimrud is my life, my history, my love… When I talk about Nimrud, I want to cry because we have another picture now. We have a sad picture, a destroyed picture,” he says. (AFP video)
