JEDDAH: Prince Sultan bin Salman, head of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, has praised the
King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture “Ithra” after it was named among the world’s greatest places.
The center in Dhahran was inaugurated by King Salman in 2016 and recently made it on to TIME’s 2018 list of the World’s 100 Greatest Places.
Prince Sultan said the achievement reflects a global appreciation for the efforts by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of his highness King Salman, to protect culture and reflect the Kingdom’s unique civilization.
The prince commended the center’s role in promoting the Kingdom’s culture and preserving it using modern tools.
The center is an all-purpose cultural destination considered the first incubator of knowledge of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
The center is a joint initiative between the Saudi Commission for Heritage and Saudi Aramco Oil Company to promote and preserve the Kingdom’s cultural heritage.
