Moroccan FM says news of ambassadors’ withdrawal from Saudi Arabia, UAE is unfounded

The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the news of his country withdrawing its ambassadors from the UAE and Saudi Arabia was unfounded, Al Arabiya reported.

Nasser Bourita told Russian news agency Sputnik that the news was not issued by any Moroccan official.

The minister's statement came after news outlets alleged that Morocco recalled its ambassadors to for consultations on Friday.

RABAT: Morocco’s King Mohammed VI has pardoned Hajjar Raissouni, a journalist convicted last month of having extramarital sex and an abortion, along with her fiance, a doctor and two of his colleagues, the justice ministry said on Wednesday.
The case of Raissouni, who had denied the charges against her, outraged rights activists who said she had been targeted for her work for a newspaper that has criticized the state, and because she is the niece of a prominent Islamist.
