ISLAMABAD: Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow on invitation from Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Foreign Office said on Wednesday.

The three-day visit will see Mohamad attend, as guest of honor, the Pakistan Day parade which will be held in Islamabad on March 23.

“The Malaysian prime minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including several leading businessmen,” the statement released by the Foreign Office read.

Mohamad’s bilateral engagements will include a meeting with President Dr Arif Alvi and PM Khan, followed by delegation-level talks.

“The two prime ministers will also speak at the round-table meeting of the CEOs of industries, who desire to invest in the automobile and telecommunication sectors of Pakistan,” the statement added.

Pakistan is hoping that Mohamad’s visit will further cement the existing ties between the two countries.

“The focus of the interest is on enhancing economic, trade, investment, and defense ties, for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries,” the statement read.

PM Khan visited Malaysia in November last year and agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.
