ThePlace: Eimarah Palace of Najran

The traditional architecture of Saudi Arabia’s southwestern Najran region is characterized by its distinctive mud houses and palaces which are widely considered to be the best-preserved buildings of their kind in the world.

One unique example of the architectural style is Eimarah Palace which was constructed in 1942 during the time of Prince Turki bin Mohammed Al-Madhi.

It is used as the office for the governorate as well as providing accommodation for the governor, his family and guards.

Arab coalition: Houthi armed drone, ballistic missiles launched toward Khamis Mushait intercepted

RIYADH: A Houthi armed drone and two ballistic missiles launched towards Saudi Arabia's Khamis Mushait were intercepted on Thursday, the Arab coalition said.

The armed drone was intercepted and downed in the morning whilst the ballistic missiles were intercepted in the evening, Arab coalition spokesperson Col. Turki Al-Maliki said. 

Al-Maliki stressed that the coalition continues to take appropriate actions to deal with hostile and terrorist Houthi acts in accordance with international humanitarian law.
