RIYADH: A person accused of cybercrimes hacked into a university’s network and edited students’ grades, as well as accessing personal data, Dr. Majid Al-Dousaymani, a spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor’s Office, announced on Thursday.
He added that the Public Prosecutor’s Office had analyzed the criminal’s modus operandi and linked it to similar cases. The accused would be transferred to “the competent court to be punished,” he said.
Al-Dousaymani went on to stress the Office’s commitment to protecting all national information systems, saying the case should be seen as a warning to those considering hacking or disrupting those systems.
