JEDDAH: The Middle East Diabetes and Obesity Congress concluded in Jeddah with a discussion on submitted research papers and scientific sessions.
The congress called for the launch of the Scientific Research Award in the field of diabetes and obesity in the Kingdom. The award is sponsored by the Saudi Scientific Diabetes Society, where details regarding the award and the next conference will be announced later.
The sessions discussed the best ways to prevent diabetes and obesity, with a focus on the importance of physical exercise and healthy eating habits.
Speakers also discussed organizing training sessions for health personnel who care for patients suffering from diabetes and obesity.

Saudi Arabia announces 56 more COVID-19 deaths

  • 360 new cases were reported in Riyadh
  • A total of 1,858 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced 56 more deaths from COVID-19 and 4,128 new cases of the disease on Saturday.
Of the new cases, 360 were reported in Riyadh, 315 in Dammam, 217 in Hufof and 214 in Qatif.
The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 143,256 after 2,642 more patients recovered from the virus.
A total of 1,858 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far.
