ARAR: Northern Borders Region Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz held a video conference on Thursday with Minister of Transport Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.

The two men discussed the Kingdom’s supply chains, particularly in relation to the food, health, and logistics sectors. Prince Faisal raised the possibility of using railways to transport goods.

They also reviewed projects that are delayed, and ways of ensuring the full completion of road-related projects in the region, in accordance with the previously set timetable. Prince Faisal reviewed the ministry’s plan to develop and improve transport services in the Northern Borders region and discussed the main obstacles and solutions for several projects.

“Given its geographic and strategic location, the Northern Borders Region has the potential to become a link between the Kingdom and the world, and between the Kingdom’s different regions,” Prince Faisal said.

He added that the transport sector in the region could make a significant contribution to turning the Northern Borders Region into a strategic link between Asia, Africa and Europe, and praised the efforts King Salman’s government has made to make this happen.
