6 exhibitions to see in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue

Dubai-based arts hub Alserkal Avenue is kicking off the fall season with a number of physical and virtual exhibitions.

  • On Stones and Palimpsests

    When? Sept. 19-Nov. 7

    This exhibition is artist Hera Büyüktaşcıyan’s second solo show at the Green Art Gallery.  Her work is often focused on re-tracing silenced histories.

  • New Waves: Mohamed Melehi

    When? Sept. 19-Oct. 10

    The colorful exhibition in Concrete gallery retraces the life and career of Mohamed Melehi, a painter, photographer, muralist, graphic designer and cultural activist.

  • Wissam Shawkat

    When? Sept. 19

    Iraqi calligraphy artist Wissam Shawkat is showcasing his paintings during Alserkal Lates, when the hub will stay open later than usual and host a number of socially distanced performances and shows.

  • Mohammed Kazem: Infinite Angles

    The Emirati artist’s exhibition will feature artworks that explore light and sound during Alserkal Lates.
