On what it has been like working the frontlines during COVID-19:
During my career, I have attended to many major incidents and disasters and primary care played a major role in the response to those disasters.
During COVID-19 crisis, primary care successfully responded to the first wave and was at the frontline of JHAH efforts to minimize the impact of the pandemic on people and on Saudi Aramco operations. We have created a designated area equipped to receive suspected COVID-19 patients, established the first drive-through service in the Kingdom, where we built a capacity to sample 300 patients/day, operated seven quarantine facilities to accommodate Saudi Aramco returning travelers, and we continue to serve our non-COVID-19 patients mainly through virtual visits as we established the first Electronic Health Record linked video-visit in the GCC through the Epic system.
If I would summarize my experience, I would say success is through staying focused on our goals and maintaining excellent relations with different stakeholders among all professions and operations.
