Five winners were announced for the competition, which received submissions under the hashtag #HIPAContest_Clouds.

Nader Mohamed Saadallah

The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) recently announced the winners of its Instagram Photo Contest, which had the theme ‘Clouds.’ Eygptian photographer Saadallah was selected for this image of Burullus Lake in the Nile Delta.

Salim Ali Alhajri

The Omani photographer took her winning shot while hiking in the desert. “I was awed by the sight of the clouds in the sky and their shadows on the sand dunes,” she said in a statement, adding that the win was “very special” to her as it was her first in any competition and that her ambition is “to produce beautiful and inspiring work.”

Patricia Soon Mei Yung

Yung, a Malaysian photographer, was recognized for her black-and-white image of the Shanghai skyline. She explained that she had prepared to take this shot “from the first day of my visit” but that constant rain had prevented her from getting it. “Luckily, on the last day of my visit, the fluctuating clouds helped me take this winning photo.”
