International community urged to help prevent food crisis

RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdul Rahman Al-Fadli has called on the international community to help deliver food to the neediest in developing countries most affected by the pandemic and its economic fallout.
Al-Fadli was speaking on the occasion of the 40th World Food Day celebrated every year on Oct. 16. He said that a serious effort was needed to avoid aggravating the food crisis and to enact laws that contributed to acquiring safe and nutritious food. This was especially important due to the exceptional difficulties created by the coronavirus.
