ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in a meeting Wednesday with Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki vowed to strengthen security cooperation with the kingdom, the interior ministry said in a statement.
Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif visited Islamabad in February, with the two nations deciding to strengthen bilateral cooperation and increase connectivity between their respective interior ministries.
“Security cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will be further enhanced,” interior minister Sanaullah said. “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will work together to address internal and regional security challenges.”
“Will thwart any conspiracy aimed at damaging Pak-Saudi ties,” he said.
Separately, UAE Ambassador to Islamabad Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi met Pakistani finance minister Miftah Ismail on Wednesday and discussed long-standing bilateral ties and the areas of trade, energy, refinery, and petroleum.
Ismail said Pakistan wanted to strengthen existing bilateral relations, especially in economy-related sectors and through investment.
“The Finance Minister also shared with the UAE’s Ambassador about the potential investment avenues present in Pakistan and shared welcoming sentiments,” the finance ministry said in a statement.
The UAE ambassador expressed interest in the investments, the statement added.
