Girl punished for not wearing uniform

MAKKAH, 5 May — The Makkah police is investigating complaints about the principal and a teacher of an intermediate girls’ school here for severely beating a student because she visited the school without wearing uniform, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. The girl had gone to the school to collect her grades at the term examinations. The principal not only refused to give the girl her marklist but severely beat her with the help of another teacher. She was seriously injured, the paper said. A medical report recommended several days’ rest for the girl to heal bruises on her hands and wrist, the paper added.
