JEDDAH, 22 May — Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has appointed Ahmad Saeed as its managing director with full powers of chief executive officer. According to an announcement from Tariq Hasan Bukhari, the airline’s general manager for Saudi Arabia & Yemen, Saeed has an extensive and diversified work experience as an entrepreneur in the private sector. Well respected in the business community, Saeed is also the chairman of Businessmen’s Hospital Trust, Lahore. Besides heading the Service group of industries for the last 20 years, which employs more than 7,000 people, Saeed has business interests in Europe, the US, the Middle East and the Far East. He has also served as the chairman of Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan. A graduate in chemical engineering, Saeed has attended a number of management and marketing programs and courses. His organizational skills and entrepreneurial initiatives in introducing contemporary management practices have earned him high reputation among major business concerns of Pakistan and abroad.
