JEDDAH, 22 May — Le Mirador, an aesthetically decorated restaurant described as the first of its kind in the Middle East, is the latest arrival in Jeddah. The restaurant, located at Arbaeen street, is said to be the result of a fruitful union between a Saudi ingenuity and Swiss expertise in restaurant business. Its new concept combines Saudi hospitality, Swiss management efficiency and talent of four French chefs to unite fine pastry, chocolatarie, bakery and the finest French cuisine. “If you allow yourself to explore the rich selection available in the menu you’ll lose yourself to the delight of your taste buds,” a restaurant spokesman remarked. Some of its dishes are: Fish beggars, tournedos of salmon with morels, fresh tomato soup with curry, tregastel jumbo shrimps, steamed najil with sweet peppers and cardamoms, lamb filet with mustard seeds and fresh herbs, and puff pastry with cream of mushroom on a bed of leeks. Its buffet of sweets and “petit fours” will be the best accompaniment to the specially blended coffee of the house.
