Foot and mouth cases drop

RIYADH, 23 May  — The department of animal resources at the Ministry of Agriculture and Water announced yesterday that foot and mouth cases in the country had dropped from 21 herds last week to 10 herds. “It means the disease is gradually disappearing from the country,” a statement said. More than 3,000 animals had been affected by the disease in various parts of the country. The epidemic was mainly found in the provinces of Riyadh, Hail, Makkah, Qassim and the Eastern Province, according to the Agriculture Ministry.
