RIYADH, 24 May — Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has invited Saudi officials from governmental organizations to apply for nine new training programs to be held in Japan from Aug. 30 to Sept. 25 this year.
According to Kuniaki Nagata, resident representative at JICA Saudi Arabia Office, governmental organizations desiring to nominate candidates for any of the nine listed courses should contact JICA office in Riyadh.
“Only one Saudi will be accepted for a particular course, together with participants from other countries. JICA will fully cover expenses for the training,” Nagata said, adding that applications should be submitted before the end of June.
He said besides promoting mutual understanding and friendship among the countries, one of JICA's main objectives in the Kingdom was to contribute to its Saudization program.
In another development, Nagata announced that Yukio Otsu, vice president of JICA, will lead an official delegation from Japan on a three-day visit to Riyadh from May 25.
During his stay in the capital, he will sign with the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT) an agreement on the implementation of the Saudi-Japanese Automobile High Institute Project in Jeddah.
