KARACHI, 25 May — Ghinva Bhutto, the Syrian-born widow of Murtaza Bhutto, has rejected her sister-in-law Sanam Bhutto’s claim that the 70 Clifton bungalow belonged to her as it was gifted by her brother Murtaza. Sanam, the youngest daughter of former Premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, has moved the Sindh High Court seeking the possession of the house. She pleaded with the court to order Ghinva, who is currently living in the house, to vacate it. Ghinva, meanwhile, said the house was actually owned by Khurshid Begum, mother of the late Z. A. Bhutto. Khurshid Begum had gifted it to her grandson Mir Murtaza, who in his lifetime had transferred the ownership rights to Ghinva and his two children. Ghinva has been at loggerheads with her two sisters-in-law, Benazir and Sanam, for the past four years. A court earlier handed down a judgment favoring Ghinva declaring her as the legitimate guardian of Murtaza’s two children. Ghinva, in her reply, has appealed to the court to dismiss Sanam’s petition.
