JEDDAH, 30 May — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd yesterday inducted four new members — Sheikh Saleh ibn Abdullah Humaid, Sheikh Ahmad S. Mubaraki, Sheikh Abdullah ibn Ali Al-Rekban and Sheikh Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al-Mutlek — to the Council of Senior Islamic Scholars. He appointed Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Subait as undersecretary at the National Guard.

According to a Royal Decree, the number of CSIS members should be not less than 11 and not more than 21. Their term of service will be four years unless renewed by a Royal Decree. “The term of all present members, except the chairman, will end four years after this decree unless a Royal Decree was issued to renew it,” a Royal Court statement said.

King Fahd also relieved Sheikh Nasir ibn Hamad Rashed and Sheikh Saleh ibn Abdul Rahman Al-Atrem of their posts as CSIS members upon their request due to health reasons. The king commended the services of Rashed and Al-Atrem. He appointed Mubaraki, Al-Rekban and Al-Mutlek as full-time members of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Ruling. (SPA)
