SEC awards SR331 power supply contracts

RIYADH, 4 January — The Saudi Electricity Company recently signed contracts worth SR331 million with two national companies to carry out work for supplying electricity power to Saudi Aramco's Hardh gas production plant in the Eastern Province. The two contracts, signed by Sulaiman Al-Qadi, SEC's executive president, also covers the expansion of Al-Hawyah central station which supplies power to Aramco's Al-Hawyah gas plant. A contract worth SR197.8 million has been awarded to the Middle East Engineering and Development Co. Ltd. It involves installation of an 111-km 380 KV transmission line between Shadqam and Al-Hawyah stations. A second contract worth SR133.5 million was signed with National Contracting Co. Ltd. (SPA)
