JEDDAH, 29 January — Candy Bouquet, the famous American candy franchise, has recently opened in the Kingdom. Hassan Dahlawi, the chairman of  Saudi International Establishment and owner of the shop, told Arab News that he was happy to introduce the shops and their products and services to the Kingdom.

Asked about the franchise, he said that Candy Bouquet was a totally new and different idea in the Kingdom. "People here normally take either flowers or candy but our shop provides a mixture of the two. In addition, a customer can create his own special bouquet. We also offer diabetic candies and our prices run from SR150 to SR3,000."

Dahlawi noted that a branch in Riyadh had been opened and there are plans to open another in the Eastern Province.  He also announced that he would provide sub-franchises for businessmen all over the Kingdom with their supplies coming from his company.

Besides Candy Bouquet, the company also has the franchise for Sanrio, a Japanese company which manufactures school supplies, soft toys and tee-shirts.  Sanrio has recently introduced a new line for teen-agers called Vivitex which will soon be available in the Kingdom.
