Border smuggling decreases

RIYADH, 22 February — Smuggling of cattle into to the Kingdom along the country's borders decreased noticeably this Hijiri year, according to a study conducted by the Border Guard. Director General of the Border Guard Lt. Gen. Talal Al-Anqari said yesterday that the number of illegal immigrants infiltrated into the country was 301,942 this year. It was 292,523 last year. The number of smugglers came down to 2,954 from last year's 4,500. Security officials also confiscated 2,076 kilograms of hashish, 2.43 tons of qat and 720 grams of marijuana this year. (SPA)
