RIYADH, 27 February — Security officials recently arrested a Pakistani worker for selling pornographic video cassettes at a residential district in Riyadh.

Muhammad Yakub used a shop for designing women's dresses as the cover for his operations, Al-Riyadh newspaper said in a report quoting police officials.

Acting on a tip-off, officials in the expatriate monitoring wing of the Passports Department in Riyadh laid a trap and caught the man red-handed. Col. Abdul Rahman Al-Daie, director of the expatriate monitoring wing in Riyadh, said security officials also confiscated several pornographic videos concealed inside the shop.

The official said investigations were under way to determine whether Yakub acted alone or he had any accomplices in running the criminal activity. He thanked citizens and expatriates for tipping off the authorities of the undesirable activity going on in their neighborhood, the newspaper said. (AN)
