JEDDAH, 28 June — A student of Pakistan International School, Jeddah (PISJ), Sumiyya Shaheen, has topped the general group of the Federal Board’s SSC Examination, 2001, school sources informed.
“We feel great pleasure to announce that one of our students Sumiyya Shaheen has clinched top position in general group of the Federal Board in SSC examination 2001, the Principal, Wing Commander Muhammad Siddiqui said. He congratulated Sumiyya and her parents on her excellent achievement which has brought honor both to the parents and the institution.
A total of 254 girls have passed the examinations this year in the science group in which 270 had appeared, while 223 boys out of 245 have passed in the same group. In the general group 83 students have passed out of 98 appeared. Thirty-eight students have got A-1 grade and the overall percentage of the school’s result is 91.3 percent, the school authorities said.
The principal has conveyed his appreciation to the headmistress and the female staff members producing excellent results which he said, were the outcome of their dedication, concerted efforts and meticulous planning.
From last year, the school started honoring the top-scorers. This year too, the school will provide Sumiyya with gratis admission i.e. education during her studies in this school. She will also receive a gold medal and cash prize of SR2,500. The other top students will also be awarded cash prizes.— S.F. Ali
