Fahd to host 1,300 pilgrims

JEDDAH, 2 March — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd will host 1,300 pilgrims from various countries such as China, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Gibraltar, Germany, France, Britain, United States of America, Cuba, Argentina and Brazil, said assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Tawfiq Al-Sidairi. Over 6,000 pilgrims have benefited from the scheme in the last five years, the official said. Each group will be accompanied by preachers and translators. Muhammad Al-Salim, president of the Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University will attend the reception organized today by the higher committee supervising the king’s project for guests from Asia and America for this year’s Haj at the headquarters of the Science Institute in Makkah.
