DAMMAM, 1 July — Two more community organizations in the Eastern Region were named as Accredited Community Partners (ACPs) of the Philippine Embassy under the supervision of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
The two new groups were the Western Mindanao Overseas Workers Association (WMOWA) composed of Filipino Tauhids and the Ro Akeanon of Saudi Arabia (RASA), whose members are from Aklan province in the Visayan island of Panay.
Labor Attaché Jainal Rasul and Supervising Welfare Officer Sotero Tornea approved the accreditation of WMOWA led by its president Mufti Calvin, and that of RASA headed by its president Reggie Montano.
There are now 17 so-called ACP organizations in the Eastern Region. The others are AFCSCOM, Saudi Arabia Hiligaynon, Sangkapbuhay, Filipino Retirees Movement, Gabay Kapwa, PICPA, PSME, IIEE, MOTHER, United Surigaonon Association, United Filipino International, United Muslim Association, Pag-asa, Kapit-Lakas, and OFW Congress.
