HYDERABAD, 2 July — A rousing reception was accorded to the inaugural Dubai-Hyderabad flight of the Emirates Airlines when it landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here yesterday. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, state government ministers and officials extended a red carpet welcome to airline officials and passengers of the EK-572 flight, which landed at around 2:00 p.m. Naidu received the delegation led by Ghait Al-Gaith, the director commercial operations of Emirates. Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said the Dubai-Hyderabad flight of Emirates was a dream come true for him and the state. Ghaith praised the role of Naidu in making the Emirates flight to Hyderabad possible. “He was instrumental in making it possible”, he said. Later, Ghaith formally inaugurated the Emirates office in Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad. Emirates will be running eight flights a week between Hyderabad and Dubai and a brand new Airbus A 330-200 has been deployed on the route. With this, Emirates will be flying 37 flights per week between Dubai and India, including eight to Hyderabad, 18 to Bombay and four to Madras.
