AHSA, 28 July — Streets, shopping malls and recreation centers in the Eastern Province wore a deserted look yesterday as extreme temperatures and humidity forced people to stay indoors. Informed sources at MEPA told Arab News that humidity rate reached 81 percent at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and 87 percent in the rest of the province. Temperatures soared to as high as 47 degrees Celsius in some parts of the province. The sources said humidity rates would go further up in August and September. — Saeed Al-Dosary
