MAJMAA, 18 August — A Saudi has lodged a complaint with the authorities that negligence by doctors and nurses at Houtat Sudair General Hospital has led to the death of his new-born baby. Abdul Aziz Al-Husseini accused that the doctors and staff at the hospital did not give proper care to his wife when she was admitted there with labor pains. “The hospital staff did not pay attention to my wife’s repeated calls for help, and she gave birth outside the labor room” endangering the baby’s life, Al-Husseini told Al-Riyadh newspaper. He said a doctor — identified only as Adam — attended his wife five hours after she first complained about pains.
