RIYADH, 24 August — The agriculture and commerce ministries have warned against importing British beef contaminated by a killer virus. The two ministries gave the warning after reports that a dangerous disease, called variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and similar to mad-cow-disease, has been found in Britain. The disease could be spread to humans if they eat the beef contaminated by the virus. The Commerce Ministry said it was continuing the total ban on meat imports from Britain and other European countries.
