Housemaid runs off with jewelry

JEDDAH, 12 October — A Saudi woman in Taif complained to the police that a housemaid had run away after stealing SR3,000 in cash and 39 gold bracelets from her house, reported Al-Madinah newspaper yesterday. The Saudi woman expressed her outraged that the housemaid could have tricked her in this way despite the fact that everyone had been very kind to her. All jewelry shops have been warned about accepting jewels from those who bring them to sell off the street, Taif police said.
