JEDDAH, 16 November — Constant practice paid Bobby Baraquel off as he guided Acis-Borouge keglers to a 5-0 victory over the Fitaihi bowlers while Sid Lapena hauled a big 636 to lift Insektos over Swingers at the end of week 4 of the 12th ICBL at the Jeddah Bowling center.

Baraquel, on his team head and player task, led Acis-Borouge with 583 handicap series, which, with nearest help from Danny Cofreros, who had another 583, placed the squad in a high morale to concretize a 902-879, 970-855 & 948-889 demolition of Fitaihi. Responding to the leadership of Baraquel were Gail Mata, Lynn D. and James Galvan laying in separately with 528, 559 & 567 to totally shackle their opponents with final aggregate of 2820-2623.

Fitaihi also fought back to avoid this another disastrous session but the best output they can make was that from Grace Manjares, whose 562 handicap series was topped by 196. Other players all poised to help but their total concoction of 2061 from Cris Temblique, Evelyn Catchero, Ante Ramos & Sammy Ocampo was simply not enough to salvage a point.

Lapena, who have been the silent intruder for Insektos, showed his own version of leadership by giving outright boosting of 237 & 230 on the first two games, so that though riddled with track problems, managing only a 169 on the last set, the hard roller Sid still emerged as the most-instrumental bowler for his team. Also giving more comfort to Lapena was the principal support stud Hashim Guinomla, who in his parallel pillaring of his team totaled 599 including his initial lane-ripper of 226. But the best attribution of this success of Insektos is on the contribution of Bugsy Alday whose own patent of kegling progressed to as much as bolstering her team with 562 handicap series from amazing games of 195, 180 & 187. Luz Pagaran and team captain Arnold Alday completed their conquer of Swingers II with separate clutch of 449 & 488.

On the Swingers side, Nick Suing with 592 produced his team’s high-losing score of 2696, with par help from Alice Orolfo 545, Mao Orolfo 539 and Riah Arceo 538. Doy Arceo had 452 for his bleak Friday.

Otra Cosa (2879) bt. Pepsi (2593) 5-0. Randy Mata, aided by the consistent Danny de Guzman (599) and the shining Mel Sta. Ana (584) led Otra Cosa to this another winning moment as it was only the perfect-game achiever Rene Santiago (603) who showed competition for Pepsi.
