Youth stabbed for being late for prayers

BAHA, 21 November — A man stabbed his younger brother here last Sunday because he was not being punctual in attending prayers. The 28-year-old became incensed when he found that his younger brother, 20, arrived at afternoon prayers late despite repeated warnings.

After prayers, both brothers quarreled and finally the older brother stabbed the young man. While the bleeding youth was rushed to a nearby hospital, the culprit reported to a police station and confessed his crime, Okaz daily reported yesterday.

The statements of both the culprit and the victim were recorded in the presence of the president of the Shariah court at Al-Aqiq.
