Ban on periodicals with cigarette ads

JEDDAH, 3 December — Authorities have issued an order banning cigarette advertisements in foreign publications circulated in Saudi Arabia, Al-Riyadh Arabic newspaper reported yesterday.

The ban covers the publication of advertisements on cigarettes and other harmful products, the paper said quoting Dr. Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al-Badah, chairman of the board of directors of the Charitable Society for Combating Smoking.
