RIYADH, 4 January — Renowned Saudi playwright and TV artist Muhammad Al-Ali, 64, died of heart attack here yesterday. He was a doyen of fine arts in the Kingdom for over three decades. His works generally tackled social issues with satire. One of his most notable play was Under the Chair written in 1985. His TV serial Khallik Maie, a Ramadan comedy, was immensely popular. He was found unconscious in his study yesterday. He was taken to a nearby hospital but he died before reaching it, his son Fahd said. The funeral prayers will be held after the Friday congregational prayers at the Al-Rajhi mosque.
