Ghamdi, Kanoo, SPG & SVM shine in Al-Gosaibi League

ALKHOBAR, 4 January — In the EPCA League sponsored by Khalifa Al-Gosaibi Group Al-Ghamdi beat Imran Tigers by 6 wickets. Imran Tigers batted first and scored 251 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 40 overs.

Waseem was top scorer with 62 runs and Irfan Dar scored unbeaten half century. Najam Quraishi scored useful 31 runs and Anwar Masood contributed 25 runs. Riaz bowled very well for Ghamdi and took 4 wickets for 45 runs and Sadaqat claimed 2 wickets for 48 runs.

In reply, Al-Ghamdi reached the target in the 37th over. Tariq Tanweer played the anchor role batted superbly and scored unbeaten 93 runs and Sajjad also shone as he scored a breezy unbeaten 71 runs which included 5 towering sixes and 5 superb boundaries. Iqbal Saeed scored 34 runs and Sadaqat 27 runs. Anwar Masood bowled well and took 2 wickets.

In another match, Kanoo beat YATA by 77 runs. Kanoo batted first and scored 285 runs. Zulfiqar Goga, Iqbal Bali and Qaiser scored fine half centuries and Ayub Khan scored an unbeaten 34 runs. Asim, Nadeem and Ian bowled well and claimed two wickets each. In reply, YATA were all out for 208. Asim and Abid batted well and scored 41 and 42 runs respectively. Munawwar bowled very well and took 3 wickets and Eijaz, Ayub and Affaq took 2 wickets each.

In another match, Saudi Pan Gulf crushed DHL by 356 runs. Saudi Pan Gulf piled up 456 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their first batting. Syed Talal Iqbal the EPCA batting star was in tremendous form. He scored magnificent unbeaten double century of 233 runs. His innings studded with 29 hits to the fence and 4 mighty sixes. Hamid Jameel also batted well and scored a fine century which was studded with 14 classical boundaries and a fine six. Amjad Butt also batted well and contributed 49 runs and Junaid chipped in with quick 38 runs. In reply, DHL got out for 100 runs. George 25 runs was the top scorer.

Junaid bowed very well and took 5 wickets for 13 runs and Hamid claimed 2 wickets for 13 run.

In another match, Saudi Valves Manufacturing ( SVM) beat Khalifa Al-Gosaibi by 5 wickets. Al-Gosaibi batted first and scored 229 runs. Hidayat scored 65 runs, Akbar Hussain 49 runs and Abbas contributed 28 runs. Syed Abdul Ghafoor bowled very well and took 3 wickets for 39 runs. In reply, SVM reached the required target in the 38th over. Syed Amin scored 61 runs and Syed Abdul Ghafoor this time showed his class with the bat and scored a fine half century 55 runs. David scored unbeaten 47 runs and took his team to a great victory. Amin Saifullah bowled well and took 2 wickets.

Meanwhile, Youngsters beat Globe Marine by 20 runs. Globe Marine scored 193 runs. Irfan 30, Ansar 29 runs and Wahid 23 runs were main scorers. Muhammad bowled well and took 3 wickets and Adam, Shahnawaz and Qayum took 2 wickets each. Youngsters 213 Mohsin batted very well and scored 67 runs and Aadil contributed 36 runs. Riaz bowled well and took 4 wickets for 21 runs and Irfan took 3 wickets for 35 runs.

In another match Hyderabad Blue beat SWCC BY 122 runs. Hyderabad Blues 268 runs. Javed scored a fine century, Prabhakar 38 runs, Usman 33 runs and Wasi 31 runs were main scorer. Iqbal bowled well and took 3 wickets for 44 runs. SWCC were all out for 146 runs. Imtiaz scored a fine half century and Iqbal scored 30 runs. Wasiullah bowled well and took 4 wickets and Sajid and Prabhakar took 2 wickets each.

Deccan Blues beat S.R. Mix by 58 runs, Deccan Blues 237. Minhaj 83, and Javed 62 runs were main scorer.Kiyani bowled well and took 4 wickets and Sunil and Zia took 2 wickets each. S.R. Mix 179 all out Zia 66 runs, Sunil 31 runs and Asif 29 runs. Ehtisham bowled very well and took 4 wickets for 29 runs and Zafar 2 for 27.

Rainbow beat Pakistani School by 54 runs. Rainbow 230 for 7. Akram 89 Zulfiqar 28 and Nadeem scored 27 runs. Muqeem took 3 wickets. Pakistani School 176 all out.

Mubeen 48 runs, Nadeem 34 and Muqeem scored 22 runs. Tariq bowled well and took 4 wickets for 36 runs and Amjad took 2 for 32 runs.
