RIYADH, 6 January — A team of veterinary doctors sent by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water to the Jizan region has revealed that an animal plague, which is not transmitted to humans, has killed a number of goats and sheep in the Baish area, according to Abdul Aziz Al-Shethri, undersecretary for agriculture affairs at the ministry. He said the ministry has launched an immunization program to prevent the spread of the disease. However, the veterinary team announced that the region is now free of the deadly Rift Valley Fever, Al-Shethri added. (SPA)
