Seminar focuses on disasters at sea

DHAHRAN, 20 January — On behalf of Interior Minister Prince Naif, Prince Saud ibn Naif, deputy governor of the Eastern Province, inaugurated yesterday a symposium on maritime disaster management at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals here. The seminar emphasized the need to mitigate and minimize maritime disasters and their effects on human life and the environment. The five-day symposium is jointly organized by the Directorate of Frontier Guards, KFUPM and Saudi Arabian Oil Company. The main objective of the symposium is to provide a forum to promote knowledge and exchange ideas that will enhance maritime disaster management in the region.
