Second batch of Chinese pilgrims

BEIJING, 5 February — More than 290 Chinese pilgrims left here yesterday for Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. This is the second batch of pilgrims leaving here for the holy places in the Kingdom.

The first batch left here last Saturday and were seen off at the Beijing airport by Saudi Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Bishr and President of the Chinese Islamic Association Chin Quan Yuan.

About 2,100 Muslims from different parts of China will perform Haj this year under the Islamic association.

A number of Chinese Muslims traveling on their own are also expected to perform Haj this year. (SPA)
