Department to protect women

JEDDAH, 8 February — The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will shortly set up a department to guarantee the protection to women and children, Al-Watan reported yesterday. The department will handle issues of mistreatment of women and children both inside and outside their families. The order in this regard was issued by Ali-Al-Namlah, minister of labor and social affairs, a year ago, according to an official source at the ministry. The department will comprise three sections — women’s, children’s and a third for the coordination with other departments.
