SkyFreight, Malaysia Airlines pip rivals: AFTBL tilt

JEDDAH, 8 February — In the 11th week of the ongoing All Filipino Tenpin Bowling League (AFTBL) organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) under the leadership of its president Rally Zamora, the SkyFreight Forwarders and the Malaysia Airlines returned to their recent winning ways to post separate victories over their rivals at the Jeddah Bowling Centre (JBC).

Hero Garcia and Randy Mata, the league’s hot shot scorers topscored in their respective team by tallying a separate three-game series scratch of 646 and 665 to lift their teams to record impressive victories against the teams of the Dove and Internet @ Kape.

Garcia, playing with the SkyFreight Forwarders rolled 199 in the first game, followed by 228 and 219 in the remaining two games while Mata had on lines of 215, 235 and 215. The multi-talented and the first Filipino bowler in the city of Jeddah to roll a perfect score of 300, the ever-fading Cris Villavelez rolled a big round to follow Garcia by carding a three-game series scratch of 584 (176, 205, 203). Rene Santiago, also a 300 perfect score holder followed Villavelez by knocking-out a series of 542 in three matches. Rod Morales and Edu Toledo rolled their normal games by downing a series of 512 and 511.

Danny de Guzman and Nap Patayan led in the Dove quintet by posting a series of 591 and 583 in three outings. Edwin Ronquillo shot 492 pinfalls while Amado Lanario and Pabz Deocareza garnered a three game series scratch of 468 and 440. The Dove collected overall total team output of 2760 pinfalls.

Fresh from their triumphan win in last week’s action, the Malaysia Airlines snatched another brilliant win over the Internet @ Kape.

The heroics of Sam Ocampo and the defending OFW Summer balikbayan champion, Hashim Guinomla colored the red lanes to post a separate series of 665 and 658. The 300 perfect score holder, Guinomla rolled 168 in the first game and toppled an identical 236 in the last two games. Nonie Yap, Jun Cabral and Danny Cofreros extended splendid support to the Malaysia Airlines squad by adding a separate three game series scratch of 643, 638 and 578. The Malaysia Airlines recorded a towering overall total team output of 1104 points.

Goying Salazar of the Internet@Kape team was at helm with a three-game series scratch of 614. Roger Daquioag sparkled 609 series to came-in next to Salazar. Mar Narvasa scored 585 series while Adore Torres and Atoy Cruz crackdown a series of 531 and 499 in three sets. The Internet@Kape produced overall total team output of 2919.

On lanes 11 and 12, the grueling match between the Sarawat Green Farm and the Lux Power Bowlers resulted at 4-1, in favor of the Sarawat Green Farm. Founding the right spot to score well in the Sarawat squad was Albert Sarte who toppled a series of 622. Fellow Nestor Quitevez, Mao Orolfo and Igna Salgado recorded separate three-game series of 580, 545 and 542 to follow Sarte. Odjie Sagcaol finished his games with a series of 479 in three sets.

The duo of Paul Antiporda and Danny Bautista lifted the Lux Power Bowlers to collect an overall total team output of 2808. Antiporda and Bautista shot an identical three game series scratch of 605. Fred "breakfast" Agahan, Jun Lasaga and Andy Erena registered a series of 546, 527 and 510.

Fred Monzon and Jess Escondo piloted the Big One Chocolates team to nipped the Amigos 2 (3-2) by tallying a series of 628 and 605. Rey Pormilda and Liny Suriaga together with Johnny Estacio added a series of 590, 531 and 462.

The Amigos 2 collected overall total team output of 2933 through the combined efforts of Arnold Biblianas (568), Danny Manriza (565), Mando Beltran (531), Voi Ycong (527) and Joey Salvador (525).

The Tetra Pak edged the Abudawood Trading (3-2) and saw Sid Lapena scintillate in the Tetra Pak by carding a three-game series of 646 on lines of 209, 213, 224. Bonnie Garcia and Ding Abaygar sizzled to score a series of 592 and 591. Bert Tuvera produced 534 points in three outings.

Louie "lover boy" Bautista was on top in the Abudawood with a series of 637 (200, 199, 238). Lindo Villanueva and Emil Payongayong sealed a series of 577 and 570. Felix Julaton and Sebz Tristeza scored 521 and 520 series in three sets.

The Global Distribution team got 5 points against the default team, the Batterfey Vhoiz and leading scorer in the Global Distribution was Rene Martinez (636), followed by Jun Palacios (595), Ver Luz (520), Dante Calapatia (446) and Jun "game ka na ba" Pilippinas (378).

The 27th All Filipino Tenpin Bowling League, the longest running league in the Kingdom is organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) through its incumbent president, Rally Zamora and in cooperation with Ibrahim Jurefani, general manager of the Jeddah Bowling Center.
