BALJURASHI, 24 February — Livestock prices have sharply increased in the Baha region. Sheep and goats are sold for SR800 to SR1,200 per head, according to Al-Madinah newspaper. Citizens attribute the price rise to the ban still in place on import of livestock from certain countries. Prices of cows and camels are also high with reports saying citizens paid between SR2,200 and SR3,000 per animal. Citizens complain that livestock traders have jacked up prices to make a fast buck during the festive season.
