Local firm finances Kerala school

JEDDAH, 2 April — A local business firm is funding the construction of an auditorium-cum-classroom for the Wandoor VMC Government Higher Secondary School, one of the oldest institutions in the Malappuram district of the southern state of Kerala. The recently formed VMC Alumni Association, Wandoor, launched the project. The contribution has come from Johnson & Johnson Saudi Arabia where Muhammad Shafi worked as its administration manager till March 2000. He is currently playing a key role in the running of the association and is a teacher in the school.
