RIYADH, 11 April — Al-Hilal entered the final of the King’s Cup soccer tournament by defeating Al-Tai 6-0 in a fiery match yesterday.
With Hussein Al-Ali’s fourth goal at the 28th minute Al-Hilal ensured their berth to the final round.
Muhammad Al-Daie, Ahmad Al-Dokhi, Abdullah Suleiman, Abdullah Al-Shoraidah and Bandar Al-Motairi guarded the defense line while Omar Al-Ghamdi, Tolio, Nawaf Al-Tamyat and Muhmmad Al-Shalhoub were at the center and Sami Al-Jaber and Edmelson in the attacking line. On the other hand the Al-Tai played 6/2/2 formation.
The Al-Hilal boys were determined to score four goals in the first half but they could score only three.
Though Al-Hilal players mounted pressure against Al-Tai but they could not score any goal until the 31st minute when Al-Shalhoub’s strike hit the mark.
The second goal was scored by Al-Motairi while the third one was the contribution of Sami Al-Jaber.
It was an unlucky day for Al-Tai who could not score even a consolation goal.
In the second half the Tai side tried to present a concerted and determined effort to repay some of the goals or at least to block Al-Hilal’s ticket to the finals. But at the 28th minute Al-Jamaan’s kick was received by Al-Ali who scored the decisive goal for Al-Hilal making the Hilal’s fans heave a sigh of relief. Al-Jamaan did not stop his wonders with the ball and scored the fifth and sixth goals.
